Therapeutic Massage

Our goal is to help you achieve pain-free, total body wellness. A range of massage and Physical therapy techniques including myofascial release and deep trigger point work are used to effect profound tissue change. We specialize in treating specific injuries and chronic pain syndromes such as fibromyalgia with which our total health approach has had tremendous success. Massage therapy is also beneficial in treating sports injuries, relieving stress/tension, easing back pain and has a tremendous calming effect on the mind as well as the body.

Sports Massage

If you’re looking to improve your athletic performance or a faster recovery from your fitness workout, a sports massage may be what your body needs. Sports massage can reduce muscle spasms and the pain of tendinitis due to muscle overuse. Like therapeutic massage, specific techniques are used to lessen muscle soreness and promote self-healing.

Hot Stone Massage

Experience hot stone therapy for a unique mind, body and soul treatment. This powerful technique incorporates hot basalt and cool marble stones to deliver the ultimate thermo-therapy treatment.

CranioSacral Therapy

CranioSacral therapy is a gentle hands-on method of evaluating and facilitating a system called the craniosacral system. The craniosacral system is comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surrounds and protects the brain and spinal cord. It uses a soft touch, generally no greater than 5 grams (the weight of a nickel), to release restrictions and improve the functioning of the central nervous system.  By releasing the central nervous system restrictions, the other tissues in the body can relax and release their tension patterns.  CranioSacral Therapy complements the body’s natural healing processes and is effective for a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction.

Myofascial Release

Myofascial Release addresses the connective tissue in the body that is called fascia.  Fascia surrounds all the muscles, bones, and organs of the body, connecting everything to everything else, and allowing everything to move in relation to each other.  Myofascial Release uses gentle unwinding techniques to decrease the tension in the connective tissues of the body, which can increase the function and mobility of the different parts of the body, and decrease pain.

Lymphatic Drainage Therapy

Lymphatic Drainage Therapy uses a gentle wave-like massage to analyze and facilitate the specific rhythm, direction, depth and quality of the lymph and fluid that surrounds the cells of the body.  These subtle manual maneuvers can decrease swelling, eliminate toxins, as well as stimulate the functioning of the immune and parasympathetic nervous systems.

Visceral Mobilization

Visceral Mobilization addresses the internal organs (the viscera) and their surrounding connective tissue that anchors them to each other and to the skeletal system.  When there is decreased motion in that connective tissue around the organs, pain and dysfunction can result.  Visceral Mobilization uses specifically placed manual forces to evaluate and encourage the normal mobility, tone and motion of the viscera and their connective tissues. By restoring the mobility and motility of the organs through these gentle manipulations, the musculo-skeletal system can move more efficiently and with less pain, the functioning of individual organs can improve, and the systems the organs function within can improve.

Healing from the Core

The Healing from the Core techniques address the basic underlying principles that explain how energy operates in our lives and how these energetic components shape how we view ourselves and the world around us.  The Healing from the Core process is designed to explore these principles conceptually, physically and emotionally, which adds another level of healing when integrated with other hands-on modalities.  This can then restore movement to the subtle energetic systems which then brings more movement to the structural systems of the body, as well as more movement to the emotional and spiritual aspects of life.
